One by one, Toronto illustrator has done 500 pieces for NYT Sunday magazine

Bob Hambly, of the Toronto design firm Hambly and Woolley recently completed his 500th illustration for the "Lives" back page of the New York Times Sunday magazine. He started back in January 1996 and says “Even after 12 years I still get that little pang in my stomach each time a new story is sent to me. The sketch and final must be completed in two days! I feel a great sense of responsibility for the page. After all, it is the New York Times!”

Among other projects, Hambly and Woolley designed the logos for both Magazines Canada and for the National Magazine Awards.
