Survey looks at digital transformation's effects on journalists

A national survey of Canadian journalists is being undertaken to gain an understanding of journalistic work in a digital age. According to a posting on Jsource, associate professor James Compton and professor Edward Comor, both of whom work in the faculty of information and media studies at Western University are doing the survey, which takes about 15 - 20 minutes. The Digital Labour Survey of Journalists is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The deadline to complete it is October 4, 2013.

"The purpose of this survey is to gain insight into transformations in Canadian media industries from the perspective of those who work as journalists,[says an introduction]. "We consider journalists to be those who research, investigate, interpret, communicate, and write about news, public affairs, popular cultures, and lifestyles through print, television, radio and digital media."
