Natalie Larivière named President of Transcontinental Media

Natalie Larivière has been appointed President of Transcontinental Media.
She fills the top job in the Transcontinental Inc. magazine- and newspaper-publishing division vacated by Andre Préfontaine. Transcontinental Media is Canada's largest circulation consumer magazine publisher (as well as its largest stable of community newspapers), has more than 3,000 employees and posted annual revenues of $555 million in 2005. Ms Larivière's appointment takes effect August 7, 2006.

Prior to joining Transcontinental, Ms. Larivière was at Quebecor Media, where she was president and CEO of the Book Publishing Group and president and CEO of Groupe Archambault Inc. Before that, she had been with the National Bank from 1987 to 2000, where her responsibilities included managing the bank’s electronic services for businesses and all electronic commerce projects. Ms. Larivière has an MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
