Alberta Oil website relaunched with
global focus

The online arm of Alberta Oil, albertaoilmagazine.com has been relaunched. The print edition was overhauled and relaunched last month after the magazine and website were purchased by Edmonton's Venture Publishing in June. The magazine and website provide news and analysis of Canada's energy sector. The website, which is has been expanded to cover the issues and trends facing the global energy sector, reflecting the significance of Canada's contribution to the global market.
"We wanted to make albertaoilmagazine.com interactive and all encompassing," says Ruth Kelly, publisher of Alberta Oil. "We envisioned an online destination where executives can read the latest energy news from their Blackberry and where anyone from across the globe can find in-depth information and discussions on one of the most talked about industries of our time."

Venture Publishing also publishers Alberta Venture and unlimited magazines as well as being a custom publisher.

Now that Alberta's oil and construction boom has pretty much fizzled out, it should be interesting to see whether Alberta's energy magazines make any money. Will buying magazine ads be a priority for oil companies?
