We've put up a little poll about the proposed freelancers' boycott of Transcontinental Media; you can give your opinion of it in the right sidebar or go to this link.
I friggin' hope so -- but please, DB, can we direct people to have a discussion in the comment section of the original article you posted earlier today?
A poll is a diversion. We need to discuss real options, not stare into crystal, and some of us can't do it on the TFEW.
You have done so and I take your point. I prefer to feel that people are not so easily diverted that clicking on a poll somehow deflects them from commenting, at length, about the issues. So far, however, only one person has done so. And that was before the poll was put up. I welcome comments, anonymous or otherwise, on Canadian Magazines. Just click on "Comments" at the bottom of the posting.
Doubtful. I picked up a Transcon magazine recently and only noticed two bylines throughout the issue, one staffer from one their newspapers and the other was the EIC.
And this was before anyone said boycott. Seems they're fine without us...

Anonymous 2.
Not only will I stop pitching, I'll stop buying. I don't like supporting businesses that screw freelancers.
