The Globe and Mail today carries a profile by Val Ross of Lise Ravary of Rogers Media. It tells us little new, but it's nice to see a senior person in the business featured.
Nice? I wouldn't be so sure. I've heard Ravary was furious about Val Ross' story that ran a couple of weeks ago, where it said that she had a marketing background rather than a journalism background. If you ask me, this reads like a make-good.
One question: can someone tell me which magazines Ravary edited that sold 150,000+ on the newsstands in Quebec, as Ross suggests in her piece? enRoute was controlled, and I'm pretty sure Chatelaine's French edition doesn't sell anything near that. Was it Elle Quebec? (Didn't know they did that well.)
