Turning up the heat and vitriol in the Afghan issue

Scott Taylor, the editor of Esprit de Corps, the independent magazine for the Canadian Armed Forces, has written a column saying that some of the most fervent supporters of the war in Afghanistan have forgotten why Canadians are fighting there in their zeal to demonize anyone who thinks that the troops should be brought home. His column appeared in the Halifax Chronicle Herald newspaper.
"These political party battle lines are fast becoming deeply entrenched and the question of Canada’s involvement in Afghanistan is without a doubt the most emotionally charged issue in Ottawa these days," the column said.
