Factoids you wouldn't find unless you read a magazine that's not usually on your radar. In this case, CA magazine, the official publication of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants:
  • According to an Expedia.ca and Ipsos Reid, 24% of employed Canadians often don’t take all their vacation days, resulting in a communal $5.1 billion handback to employers. Financial professionals ranked 7th out of 10, the medical profession was the most deprived; teachers the least. Quebecers are more likely than any other Canadians to take all their holidays and not to check their messages while they're away.
  • The number of accounting firms auditing publicly traded companies in Canada dropped 23% from 2005 to 2006; about 76% of all publicly traded accounting is done by the biggest firms, with the leader being Pricewaterhousecoopers.
