Canadian Poker Player folds

"Fifth Street Publishers regrets to announce that because of the decline in advertising for Canadian Poker Player Magazine, and lack of sponsorship for the Canadian Poker Tour which is the sole business model of Fifth Street, both assets have become dormant for the time being."The magazine was started by Randy Hewines of Vancouver and Dave Scharf of Saskatoon. It had only 2,400 paid subscribers, but newsstand sales of 11,000 and 17,000 controlled distribution in Canadian casinos. It claimed an audience of 91,000 and its rate card said a full page ad cost $2,500.
