How to find funny -- CSME mixer

The Canadian Society of Magazine Editors is running one of its periodic mixers on Thursday, February 12, 6 - 8 p.m. at the Bar Italia (upstairs). $15 for members; $30 for everyone else.

The topic is non-fiction humour; how to put it to work for your magazine. The presentation will be by:
  • Pat Lynch, Toro's former senior editor and now with the Globe & Mail
  • David Eddie, "Damage Control" columnist for the Globe and author of Chump Change and Housebroken

CMC seminar and social

[NOTE: DATE CORRECTION]The world of b2b audience development will be explored at a Circulation Management Association of Canada (CMC) on Monday, March 2 in Toronto. It will explore digital editions, digital circulation and digital auditing, explained and explored by a panel including
  • Taufiq Hausen, CEO - Zegapi
  • Vesna Moore, Director of Circulation - Business Information Group
  • Timothy Peel, Vice President - CCAB/BPA Worldwide
The seminar from 1 to 4 p.m. will be followed by the CMC's annual social, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both seminar and social will be at the Academy of Spherical Arts (that's pool or billiards to you), 38 Hanna Ave., 416-532-2782. $59 for CMC members; $75 for anyone else.

To clarify, the cost is for attendees of the circulation session. The social event afterwards, is free for all.
