Cannabis Culture (print) magazine is discontinued
The print edition of Cannabis Culture magazine is being discontinued by notorious publisher Marc Emery, the leader of the Marijuana Party. Mastheadonline reported a message to readers from Emery in which he laid out the economic difficulties of the magazine, which has a U.S. as well as Canadian circulation.
Essentially, Emery's retail and mail order business, selling hemp products, marijuana seeds and smoking supplies, has had to subsidize the magazine to the tune of $240,000 a year for the past three and a half years. Advertising revenues were $30,000 per issue.

"It’s clear that printed media is no longer sustainable or effective," Emery wrote. "If we focus on our online presence, we can raise revenue and be more efficient and competitive with information. We will continue our pioneering ways by taking advantage of our Pot-TV video capabilities and our extensive contacts and reputation around the world."Emery is, at present, running in the British Columbia election for the Marijuana Party while his wife, Jody Emery is running for the Green Party. Emery says he may fold the Marijuana Party and throw his support to the Greens.

Does anyone know what the circulation numbers for CC was?
Emery says that "printed media is no longer sustainable or effective," but it would appear that only magazines without a loyal readership are the ones to go during this recession.
