Manitoba nursing magazine criticized for printing names of addicted nurses

The College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba regularly prints in its quarterly magazine RN Journal and on its website the names of nurses who are disciplined for being addicts. The practice has been condemned by the Manitoba Nurses Union, but defended by the Manitoba health minister Theresa Oswald.
"Protection of the public needs to be paramount," the health minister told the Canadian Press.
The nurses' union is not impressed:
"What's to be gained by humiliating these nurses and naming them in public?" asks Sandi Mowat, the union president.
