Cosmetics site to keep beauty advisors on top of new products

Cosmetics magazine, the Rogers trade publication, is launching a new website aimed at beauty advisors and cosmeticians. CosmeticsMag.com goes live September 1 and is designed to be of interest to people in the industry, but also to "fashionistas" and "beauty junkies" as well, according to a story in Marketing magazine.

Links to vendor and retail training sites, as well as beauty schools will also be found on the site. A photo gallery will showcase industry events from across the country.

The consumers purchasing these products tend to be more educated than the advisor serving them, said Jim Hicks, publisher of Cosmetics Magazine.

The website “will offer them another opportunity to find out a little more about the brands,” he said.

Hicks said the beauty industry launches about 1,300 new products each year, “so it’s tough to keep up.”

Cosmetics magazine is published 6 times a year and has a circulation of 11,200 copies.
