Dose founders sell GigPark search site
to CanPages Inc.

The founders of Dose, the online magazine, have sold their website GigPark to CanPages Inc. Pema Hegan and Noah Godfrey created GigPark to allow searches for local businesses and services. According to a story in the National Post, Canpages, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., plans to integrate the user recommendation functions from Gigpark.com into its own local search platform at Canpages.ca.
"Online recommendations, especially those from a user's social networks, are increasingly important when choosing which local businesses to buy from," Olivier Vincent, chief executive of Canpages, said in a statement.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dose, published in partnership with Canwest Publications Inc., lasted barely a year in 2005, published as a print daily. After the print venture folded, the magazine continued online, under Canwest ownership.
