Better Farming magazine field editor wins two major farm writing awards
A London, Ontario journalist who is a field editor for the magazine Better Farming, has won two prestigious awards from this year’s Canadian Farm Writers’ and Broadcasters’ awards competition.
Mary Baxter was awarded the Jack Cram gold award for monthly press reporting and the Dick Beamish silver award for press feature. The awards were announced at the federation's annual conference, held this year in Edmonton. A full list of winners will be posted shortly on the Federation’s website, http://www.cfwf.ca/
Baxter won gold for “The new ethanol” (monthly press reporting), the magazine's cover story in the June/July issue and silver for “Women’s changing role on the farm” (press feature).
The CFWF represents 400 English-speaking agricultural journalists, broadcasters and communicators across Canada through five regional associations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Eastern Canada.
