Seams like old times: Worn magazine hosts monthly "mending night"

Worn Fashion Journal, the resolutely independent alternative fashion publicationl, holds a monthly "mending night" in Toronto where people can find the best way to keep their clothes in good nick. Not only that, but it started a Facebook page for it called "Thursday Night Your Stockings Needed Mending". (It is, of course, a reference to a line in the lyrics of the Beatles's song Lady Madonna.)

"Once again, Wornettes will be piling into Freedom Clothing Collective to frantically fix our glorious garments," says a post on the magazine's blog. "If you aren’t scared off by our alliteration, come join us! We will help you find the best way  to mend your stuff. For those of you who live your life in pristine elegance and have never torn a seam, we will have supplies on hand to make an easy craft."
