Professionally Speaking wins gold and two silvers in international competition
Professionally Speaking, the publication of the Ontario College of Teachers, has won one gold, two silvers and three honourable mentions in the 2013 Tabbie Awards, made by the Trade Association Business Publications International.
The winning entries:
- Gold: Best how-to article “Tech Class,” by Gerry Blackwell (March 2012)
- Silver: Best cover photo “Spotlight on LeSage” shot by Jaime Hogge (Sept. 2012)
- Silver: Best feature design “Food for Thought,” (Dec. 2012)
Honourable mentions were “Supplies in Demand” for best opening page or spread (June 2012); “Final Exam” for best department; and“Forces for Change” for best feature, (Dec. 2012)
Professionally Speaking is a quaterly, edited by Jaqueline Kovacs, who joined it in 2011 after being the deputy editor of Today's Parent magazine.
The 2013 Tabbie Awards featured nearly 500 entries, with nominations coming from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Singapore and South Africa. The awards recognize excellence in trade, association and business publications. Additionally, it exposes editors to similar b2b magazines and their local practices across the globe.
