PMB results mixed; Can Geo a big readership loser

PMB 2008 is out, and with it come some interesting developments, at least on the English list:
  • Style at Home has gained 108,000 readers since last year (+6.7%)
  • Gardening Life has gained 53,0000 (+3.5%)
  • Canadian House & Home gained 97,000 (+4%)
  • Canadian Living has gained 40,000 (+1%)
  • Chatelaine has lost 355,000 (-8.4%)
  • Canadian Geographic has lost 931,000 (-21.1%)
  • Canadian Home & Country has lost 151,000 readers (-8.1%)
  • Maclean's has lost 262,000 readers (-9.5%)
In terms of efficiency, printing the fewest number of magazines to reach the maximum number of readers, some of the top titles stack up this way.

Hi -- just a quick note that your RPC for Today's Parent is incorrect (or at least differs from what PMB published). PMB put the RPC for Today's Parent at 9.2 for 2008 not the 8.3 you indicated above.

I didn't check them all but the rest seem to be ok so it's probably just a typo.

Thanks!

In the interest of fairness I thought I would bring a slight omission to your attention. “Canadian Health and Lifestyle” received a 4.6% (112,000) readership increase elevating the readership to 2,525,000. From a media buyer’s perspective shouldn’t this worthy publication be part of your listing? Apparently they’ve been publishing a quality digest for 4 years and, just like other publications, have invested equally in CCAB and PMB to be measured accordingly. I would hate for your very targeted readership to overlook such a valuable media commodity.
