Hedgeworld magazine closed

The specialized financial website, newsletter and monthly magazine of Hedgeworld has been shut down after nine years by the newly merged owner ThomsonReuters. According to a number of sources, including Dow Jones newswires, news director Kristin Fox, along with about 10 editorial staffers and some technology and sales staff have been dismissed. It is unclear whether any of the division's products will re-emerge in a different form. The closure can be considered part of the collateral damage of the merger of the Canadian-controlled Thomson Corporation and Reuters, the venerable news and information services provider.
