Canadian Living internship prize now
to be paid
The Canadian Living Journalism Prize offered by Canadian Living magazine just became richer, as the previously unpaid 12-week internships that went to the winners will now pay $6,500 (about $500 a week). Well, that's nice to hear. I think unpaid internships are unethical.
I second what Anon above says. Have always detested the idea of unpaid internships and their tendency to reward upper middle class Toronto kids (who can live rent-free with Mommy and Daddy). Also, you get what you pay for...
