The Driver goes paid, with push onto newsstand

The Driver magazine, revitalized and converted to paid has begun distributing on newsstands with a new focus on the auto industry. Founder and publisher Sam Adewale said in a release from the magazine:
"The Driver’s goal is to become a Canadian authority in the car and driver industry,” explains the publication’s founder and publisher Sam Adewale. “We’re gearing ourselves to providing our devoted readers with relevant stories that they care about and that affect and shape their daily lives."
Marketing director David Miller added: “Our new direction has us heading to become a major competitor in the car and driver magazine industry.”

The newsstand push of the formerly controlled circulation title is being done through Disticor.

The Driver has already signed renowned race car driver Alex Tagliani of the FAZZT Race Team as a regular contributor.
