Five Canadian magazines nominated for Utne independent press awards

Several Canadian titles have been nominated for the prestigious Utne Independent Press Awards for 2010:

• Best Writing -- Geist
• International Coverage -- The Walrus
• Environmental coverage -- Alternatives Journal
• Spiritual coverage -- Geez; Shambala Sun

The winners will be announced during the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA) independent magazine group conference April 25-26 in Washington. They will be published in the Utne Reader July-August 2010 issue.
