Time Inc. veteran to run Barnes & Noble's digital newsstand in U.S.

According to a Wall Street Journal, the giant U.S. bookstore chain, Barnes & Noble, has hired a veteran of Time Inc. to manage its digital newsstand division. Jonathan Shar was general manager for CNNMoney.com, ran consumer marketing for Sports Illustrated and digital for Time Inc. The item says that B & N wants to catch up with Amazon and to be a player in the e-reader battle to come.
