Was it that not a single direct mail campaign was entered? Or that none were deemed award-worthy? Is this the first time the ACE awards included not a single piece of new-business or renewal mail, not a solitary insert card, nary an FSI? Sad.

An ACE Award recognizes an outstanding, innovative and breakthrough campaign in our industry. Unfortunately, only a single entry was submitted for this category. Though it was a successful campaign the anonymous judges agreed that in honour of what the ACE Award represents and what previous winners accomplished it would be best to combine all consumer efforts into a single category. This decision is not influenced by the CMC but voted on by the judges. The CMC makes every effort to encourage entries and feels privileged to have the opportunity to recognize achievements in our industry but we need the industry to play their part and submit entries. Sadly, there were no submissions for the Environmental Award either. We are an industry that continues to do great things – So, on behalf of the CMC I strongly encourage all Publishers to receive credit where credit is due and submit entries… We look forward to awarding you in 2011!
