Hearst publishing unveils new "paperless" one-stop bill and sub paying system

Mega U.S. magazine publisher Hearst (Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Good Housekeeping) has launched the beta version of a new, paperless online bill-paying system that could pay big dividends for people managing their magazine subscriptions. Manilla.com is a free service that allows people to corral all their bills, subscriptions, rewards and loyalty programs in one place with a single login, thereby eliminating multiple entries and multiple passwords. According to a story from Agence France Press, Hearst hopes to take a big bite out of the 48 billion account notices and statements now mailed to customers every year in the U.S.
"Manilla's simple interface and organizational features help consumers save time and remove clutter from their lives," Manilla chief executive George Kliavkoff said.
"Manilla also serves as a powerful new way for businesses to communicate with their customers that is complementary to current online efforts and reduces the considerable costs that are spent on printed mail every day."
