Younger, keener teeners courted
by new Teen Flare site
Flare magazine, which started life many years ago as Miss Chatelaine, launched an online site on January 30 aimed at the younger segment of its audience with TeenFlare.com.
Flare already claims to be the most-read Canadian fashion magazine (something that is, um, disputed by Fashion magazine). According to a story in Media in Canada this new site is aimed at providing "trend-setting content for young, fashion-conscious, pop-culture-savvy teens." Like its parent magazine and website (Flare.com) Teen Flare.com will focus on fashion, beauty, videos, top 10 lists, photo uploads, chat rooms, movie/music reviews, celebrity looks, exclusive scoops, polls, blogs, contests and so on.

"Flare has a long-standing close relationship with young Canadians, and reaching out to them within their environment of choice seemed liked a natural and obvious next step," explains Laura Lanktree, teenflare.com's editorial producer. "Teenagers have loved Flare for a very long time, and we are thrilled to now be able to listen and talk to them personally."
