Three magazines score gold in Atlantic Journalism Awards

Three magazines won gold awards at the Atlantic Journalism Awards made Saturday in Halifax, NS. The awards are for all media, but the magazine winners were:

  • Best article: Philip Lee, Saltscapes Magazine, Dartmouth, N.S for the article Sold!
  • Best Cover - Buddhadharma, Spring 2007, Halifax, N.S. (cover subject Ouch!)
  • Best Profile Article - Eleanor Beaton, Atlantic Business Magazine, St. John's, N.L. for the article What's Up with Mickey?
Finalists in the three categories were:
Best Article
  • Alec Bruce - Atlantic Business Magazine, St. John's, NL - Big Deal
  • Alec Bruce/Marjorie Doyle/Chris Flanagan/Pauline Furlong/Jack MacAndrew - Atlantic Business Magazine, St. John's, NL -Leaders and Legends
Best Cover
  • Dalhousie Magazine, Fall 2007, Halifax, NS - Big Picture Thinking
  • Lifestyle Maritimes Magazine, Winter 2007, Dartmouth, NS - Sidney Crosby
Best Profile Article
  • Deborah Carr - Saltscapes Magazine, Dartmouth, NS - Tour of a Lifetime
  • David Swick - The Shambhala Sun, Halifax, NS - An Eye for the Sacred
