Former Flare editor named CEO of The Bay

A former editor of Flare magazine who moved from publishing in 1996 into retailing and most recently wound up heading a multinational fashion retailer based in Hong Kong has been named CEO of The Bay. According to releases and a report in the Globe and Mail, Bonnie Brooks is one of several key and experienced retailers brought aboard to renovate the company after its recent takeover.
Ms. Brooks, described by industry observers as a go-getter with a sharp eye for spotting up-and-coming brands, will begin her new job next month, a source familiar with the company said. She is believed to be the first woman CEO at HBC. Her perspective will help serve the Bay's mostly female customers, observers said.
Brooks was editor of Flare from 1994-96 and was an executive with Holt Renfrew before moving to be president of the Lane Crawford Joyce Group in Hong Kong in 2003.

Ah, the bane of cribbing text. Her first name, left off in your squib, and for the edification of your readers, is Bonnie.

Thanks. Though the error wasn't in text that was cribbed from anyone. And, you'll note, this blog always credits the sources of its information.
