Sarah Palin, up close and unretouched
Oh, for heaven's sake. Magazines get slammed for airbrushing cover models or putting starlets heads on other people's bodies, fair enough. But then to turn around and criticize Newsweek for showing Sarah Palin in closeup without airbrushing is a bit much.
Folio: quotes a Republican media consultant, Andrea Tantaros, saying she is "outraged" that the magazine didn't photoshop the facial wrinkles of the vice-presidential candidate.

“This cover is a clear slap in the face at Sarah Palin. Why? Because it’s unretouched. It highlights every imperfection that every human being has, but we’re talking unwanted facial hair, pores, wrinkles. This is a gross slap in the face to Sarah Palin.”And a commentator for Fox News says
“Any respectable magazine should be doing a little retouching.”

If only retouching what's inside her skull were as easy...
Curious if Newsweek has done any Obama covers, and if so were they air brushed?
I suspect most comedians will personally vote for Obama, but are secretly hoping they will have Palin and McCain to ridicule professionally.
They must be so conflicted.
