First annual Terri DeRose Award presented at Ryerson University
The first of what will be an annual $1,000 award from the Circulation Management Council of Canada (CMC) in memory of Terri DeRose was given out last night at Ryerson University. The Terri DeRose Award in Circulation Management was presented to Angela Walcott, a graduate of the circulation management course in the magazine publishing program at the Chang School for Continuing Education.
Both Gerry DeRose and Stephanie DeRose, Terri's widow and daughter respectively, were on the stage with Tuppy Blair, circulation director of CCMC Sports Group and the president of CMC.
It would not be overstating things that Terri DeRose was much loved and respected in the industry. She was vice-president of circulation at Transcontinental Media and a founder of CMC. She died of cancer at the age of 57 in June 2007.
