New editor named for Glacier's Grainews magazine

Lyndsey Smith, a farm writer who lives and works in Lumsden, Saskatchewan, has been named the editor of Grainews magazine. The publication, which is owned by the Farm Business Communications division of Glacier Ventures International, is a crop management magazine aimed at Prairie grain growers.
Smith (shown in a 2005 Country Guide photo), until now has been a writer and editor for Country Guide magazine, also editing several specialized crop production magazines and writing for Grainews. She replaces outgoing Grainews editor Jay Whetter of Kenora, Ontario on March 1. Whetter has been recruited by the Canola Council of Canada to develop a web-based information service for canola growers.
The magazine is published 18 times a year in tabloid format and and has a full page, 4-colour rate of $8,902.
