Larry Thomas leaves as publisher of Reader's Digest when job is eliminated
After 31 years with the company, Larry Thomas has left Reader's Digest Magazines Canada Limited after his position as publisher (Vice-president publisher, sales) was eliminated in a "realignment" of the company's management structure, according to a press release from the company.
Senior management from Reader's Digest acknowledged Thomas's tremendous contribution to the company over the last 31 years, particularly the management of many successful growth initiatives within the ad sales Department, including the launch of new multi-platform brands, such as Best Health.
On Thomas's watch, the company also launched a poll, conducted by Harris/Decima to ask Canadians what brands they trusted most, what Canadian personalities and what professions and industries. The results were in the May 2010 issues of Reader’s Digest and Sélection du Reader’s Digest as well as on readersdigest.ca and selection.ca.
