Toronto Women's Bookstore back from the brink and under new ownership
Good news that the Toronto Women's Bookstore is now under new management and on the road to recovery after a near-death experience earlier this year, according to a post on the Quill & Quire blog, which quotes the Toronto weekly Xtra!.
While the store has always been predominantly about trade books, it has also been a valued outlet for a select line of independent magazines. The new owner is a former employee, Victoria Romero, who has plans for expanding the store's services, adding a cafe with wi-fi, creating garden seating, a revamped website and a push into more online sales.

Wow...who cares...
Presumably, who cares are the customers who rallied round and the magazines that are sold there, which is why I posted it. We pay very close attention to the health of indy bookstores and indy newsstands because that is where the majority of independent magazines sell their single copies.
