Ilana Weitzman steps in as EnRoute's editor

EnRoute, the inflight magazine published by Spafax Inc. for Air Canada, has a new editor. A story in mastheadonline (sub req'd) reports that Arjun Basu has completed six years as editor-in-chief and has stepped up to the editorial director position. His successor is Ilana Weitzman, who first joined the magazine as section editor and was recently senior editor. (Previous to that she worked for Strut, a Montreal-based fashion magazine, as an editorial consultant and later as its editor.) The January 2008 issue of EnRoute is Weitzman’s first. Basu is to continue in a consultative role with the magazine and will be writing a column in the magazine starting in April.

For what it's worth, D.B., Ilana is one of ours -- Ryerson C.E., that is. Went to Montreal just after my course or I would have hired her for IEMoney. She was already working for a trade publisher when she took my course, though, so we can't take a lot of credit. Very bright woman.
