Editor of This Magazine resigns to go back to school

Jessica Johnston has confirmed that she will be stepping down as editor of This Magazine in mid-August to go back to school, doing Ryerson's new, one-year accelerated masters program. She told the other members of the Toronto Freelance Editors and Writers list:

After an incredibly rewarding, highly demanding, two plus years in the THIS editor's chair, I'm looking forward to dedicating a year to reading, learning and developing on the writing side of things. (And, of course, freelancing.)

Apparently the job will be officially posted later this week and applications to the hiring committee will be due by May 29.
