Transcon Media has another shakeup, with dismissals, reorganizations and contracting
Still more turmoil at Transcontinental Media. Today the company announced internally that several employees in sales and editorial are being dismissed while others are being put on contract or shuffled within the organization. It was also announced that there would be no salary increases for any employee this year.
In Toronto:
- Laurie Grassi, executive editor of Style at Home has been dismissed, the result of staff consolidation with Canadian Gardening
- Karen Kirk, Senior decor editor, Canadian Living is being put on contract
- Andrew Chase, food editor and Annette Waurick, both of Homemakers, have been put on contract
- The sales of MORE and ELLE Canada have been merged, with Monica Drexler managing both; Mark Pascoe is to be "repositioned" within the company
- Nadine Hoffman, director of custom publishing, is being dismissed to be replaced by Nino DiCara, who is transferring from the Totem (formerly Redwood) division. (Transcontinental acquired Redwood last year).
In Montreal:
- The local sales activity of Groupe Ma Maison is being outsourced; Jacynthe Rochon, a sales representative, is leaving the company; Christine Koessling has accepted another sales position with the Senior Publications group.
- The Senior Publications sales force has been reorganized; two sales representatives, Nathalie Jobn and Ginette Vaillancourt, are being let go.
