Naked Eye publisher arrested in
major drug bust

The owner of Naked Eye magazine, a pop-culture title, was arrested last week after a two year investigation of his involvement with drugs, contraband tobacco and the Hell's Angels, according to a story in Masthead.

Burton Rice was one of 46 people arrested in the sweep. He was arrested at his family's heavily fortified warehouse operation on the Kahnawake Mohawk reserve outside of Montreal. Police found piles of magazines, but also piles of cash -- the police found 11 safes on the premises and substantial amounts of cash.
"The criminal organization was led by full-fledged members of the Hells Angels and involved about 60 people," said chief inspector Bernard Lamothe of the Montreal police organized crime division. "Their principal criminal activity was the sale of crack. We estimate 2,000 rocks of crack were sold per week.”
According to Le Journal de Montreal, the Rice family and the Hells Angels were also involved in the smuggling of cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine.

I bet every single comment on here will be anonymous! That's why no one would talk on the record in the story. Everyone's afraid! What a great way to make a magazine (twice!). Get people to work for you then print their stuff without paying, Hell's Angels on your side.

Can someone please explain to me how this magazine managed to PUT OUT ANOTHER ISSUE with their publisher in jail for crack? It is flimsy to be sure, but who on earth is still willing to work for them or print their product?
